ikman.lk, Sri Lanka’s largest market place, recently introduced a new service ‘ikman Sell Fast’ enabling non IT savvy Sri Lankans to place premium ads on ikman.lk without even requiring access to a computer. Under this new island wide concept ikman.lk has tied up with several newsagents and communication outlets that will now include ikman.lk as one of the options to place classified advertisements.
The website has at present partnered with over 50 such news agents and communication outlets spread across the island and will concentrate this service heavily in outstation and rural areas where access to computers and internet connectivity is limited. Currently, regions such as Colombo, Ampara, Batticaloa, Matara, Galle, Kandy and Kurunegala are covered and ikman.lk has plans to expand this service to 90 newsagents and communication outlets by the end of 2015.
Speaking about the introduction of this service, Stefan Beekmeyer – Director Marketing and Sales of ikman.lk said, “We realized that there are many Sri Lankans who want to use ikman.lk to sell products but are unable to do so due to a lack of computer skills or access to internet connectivity. We introduced this service to cater to this void and we hope to partner news agents and communication outlets in all districts in Sri Lanka.”
In addition to placing classified advertisements on ikman.lk, the newsagents and communication outlets will also provide other value added services to customers. For example, in the event immovable goods such as house and property and land need to be advertised, the newsagents and communication outlets will facilitate the full process by visiting the property, taking photographs and uploading them on to ikman.lk.
This service is offered exclusively for premium ads (Top Ad and Bump Up) which offer advertisers the unique opportunity of gaining more prominence and exposure for their listed advertisements at a nominal fee. ‘Top Ad’ and ‘Bump Up’ options enable greater visibility, attracting more buyers, leading to quicker sales.
