There is nothing more frustrating than getting incredibly excited about attending a concert, sporting event, or otherwise big festival, only to find out that the tickets that you purchased are counterfeit. The internet provides people with the opportunity to use a second-hand marketplace to get great deals on these tickets, but it also opens up the door for a lot of shady deals that can take place. When this happens, the person who purchases the tickets is likely going to be quite disappointed when they get to the entrance and are denied access, especially if they have paid a lot of money for those tickets. <\/p>\n

Luckily, there are some things that you can do to prevent yourself from buying counterfeit concert or sports tickets. Here is some advice on what to look for to help you from making that mistake. <\/p>\n

Check The Dates And Times
\nSometimes the mistakes that are the most obvious to notice are the ones that people commonly overlook. That is why one of the first things that you want to do is check the date and times of the tickets that you are purchasing and make sure that they line up with the actual date of the event. In many cases, people overlook this simple and easy precautionary measure, and it\u2019s likely that they\u2019ll feel incredibly embarrassed once they realize how easy it would\u2019ve been to point out a fake ticket. In some cases, fake tickets won\u2019t even be the right time or even the correct date, and this type of information should be very easy to spot. <\/p>\n

If you are unsure of when the event takes place, it helps if you check this information before you buy the tickets. If you have any questions during the actual ticket purchasing process or when you meet the person to buy the ticket, take the time to look up the event on your smartphone. In the event that the seller is trying to rush you or make you quickly buy the tickets, understand that you have a right to say no. After all, this could be a sign that they are trying to get you to quickly make the purchase because they know they are fake. <\/p>\n

Look For Spelling Or Other Grammatical Errors
\nAnother common mistake that can be found in sporting and concert tickets is spelling or grammatical mistakes. The truth of the matter is that ticket companies work incredibly hard to give out the best tickets possible. Therefore, there is no reason as to why they would have spelling errors or grammatical misplacements on their tickets. If you see a ticket that does have this, then it\u2019s likely because the tickets are fake. <\/p>\n

One of the first places to look for spelling or grammatical errors is in the title of the event. It is here that the name of the musician or sporting team should be perfectly spelt out. If it\u2019s not, then there is certainly reason to be concerned. Other places that you can look for these mistakes are in the date and time of the event, or even in the listing for the company that is selling the tickets. Again, legitimate companies have templates that are diligently screened for any type of spelling or grammar errors. However, someone who is selling counterfeit tickets may not take the time and consideration when doing so. <\/p>\n

Check For A Hologram And Bar Code
\nMany tickets will have certain physical elements that you can look at to see if they are the real thing. For example, some tickets will have a hologram of the selling company or of the venue where the event is being held. While not every ticket is going to have this hologram, it\u2019s certainly something that is more common in today\u2019s marketplace in order to prevent counterfeit transactions from occurring. Therefore, if you don\u2019t see a hologram, you should certainly take note and not jump to purchase the ticket. <\/p>\n

Even if the ticket doesn\u2019t have a hologram, it should most certainly have a bar code. The bar code is how you are granted access to the event, so not having one would be an obvious sign that something wasn\u2019t right. If your tickets have neither a bar code nor a hologram, then you should hold off on buying them and try and find one that does. <\/p>\n

Verify The Phone Number
\nAll tickets should have a phone number on them that you can reach customer support at. If the ticket doesn\u2019t have a phone number, then that\u2019s a telling sign that something is amiss. However, if there is a phone number, then you can double-check it with the phone number that is listed online for the company. If the two match up, then it\u2019s a good sign. However, before you immediately jump to buy the tickets for sale in Sri Lanka, you should also take the time to call the number that is on the ticket. At that point, ask them specifics regarding the seat and the row of the ticket that you are purchasing. They will be able to give you more specific information as to whether or not the ticket is legitimate. <\/p>\n

Ask For Confirmation From The Seller
\nWhenever a person buys a ticket from an online retailer or box office, they will receive a confirmation with their purchase. Therefore, those who are buying tickets for sale in Sri Lanka can ask to see that confirmation from the seller. If they say that they don\u2019t have a confirmation or that it didn\u2019t come with one, this could be a reason to be concerned. If they do have a confirmation, then you can use the code that they have when calling the phone number on the ticket, just to confirm that everything lines up. <\/p>\n

As mentioned, if at any point the person who is selling the ticket tries to rush you or speed up the transaction, understand that you can just walk away. This is usually a telling sign that they have something to hide, and you\u2019re better off going elsewhere for the concert or sports tickets that you desire.<\/p>\n\n
