Forthcoming iPhone 6 – What do we know so far?

It is about that time of year again that Apple is ready to launch the newest member of the iPhone family. As preparation, rumours and leaked information crowd the Internet to get customers excited for the annual September release. Don’t waste time digging through information with this thorough collection of all the leaks grabbing the attention of the technologically savvy consumer.

On The Outside
The new Apple iPhone is not expected to stray far from the iPhone 5 in terms of the general look on the outside. According to the patents that Apple filed, a Liquid Metal body is going to provide a slimmer phone than any model released prior to the iPhone 6. Available colours and small physical details may not be revealed until the first shipment of iPhones for sale leave the factory. The popularity of the selection of colours in the previous release suggests that they will follow the successful business model. A small Apple logo on the front of the phone is intended to notify the owner by lighting up as an alert. This is in direct competition to the flashing notification lights on the front of popular Android smart phones.

Two Display Options
A 4.7-inch, as well as a 5.5-inch, display with up to 1704×960 resolutions is the anticipated option customers will have with the groundbreaking new scratch-resistant sapphire glass screen. Rather than alter the size of the entire phone, the larger screen will simply make better use of the same area. This basically means the phone space around the screen will be more modest than the smaller screened version. Another likelihood is that the screen is going to feature curved glass so that the sensors are able to detect varying levels of pressure

A Camera Upgrade
Competing operating systems offer different camera sizes and features to attract customers away from the mediocre iPhone camera. Noting the importance of the camera with the selfie craze and social media sharing, Apple has stepped up to offer image stabilisation for crisper images. The actual size itself may stay at an 8 megapixel or upgrade anywhere up to 16.

Inside The Phone
One of the first features iPhone 6 customers want to know about is how well the battery can perform compared to the old versions. Our technology generation is always on-the-go and using our mobile devices to do all sorts of tasks. As with all previous models, the battery is expected to be internal to eliminate the possibility of buying extras for convenience. Most people find that they are reaching for a charger half way through a busy day texting or playing with one of the best iPhone apps they have installed. iPhone 5 had a 1560mAh battery that is being upgraded to a 2916mAh battery in the larger version.

On a more technical note, expect the phone to only feature the same 1GB of RAM as each version of the 5. However, the dual-core processor will be beefed up to at least 2GHz. The modem is not going to move into the LTE range as many hoped, but data speeds are going to increase from the capabilities of the previous version.

Anticipated Accessories
In 2012, Apple filed a patent for wireless charging that could be a major bonus for users that were upset having to replace charging accessories when upgrading to the iPhone 5.

Another patent that has people buzzing with anticipation is the possibility of a reversible USB cable that is a constant frustration trying to plug in the accessory the correct way.

Every previous iPhone came with its own pair of ear buds as a bonus to customers for making the purchase, but things are expected to change following Apple’s purchase of Beats Audio that is set to finalize in September. The listening experience and musically-geared accessories are going to be a major part of the new acquisition.

iOS 8 Cool Stuff
-Fingerprint technology called Touch ID is a confirmed feature that sets iOS 8 pretty high on the cool features scale. Unfortunately, Apple has kept a tight-lip on the actual extend of its capabilities, but it is going to work in partnership with the advanced glass sensors.

-The health and fitness craze will see additional support by allowing users to communicate more with their phone for tracking purposes. Bring your dashboard along to the doctor or to visit a personal trainer for the most accurate information detailing your sleep schedule, current medications, fitness information, and vitals.

-Intuitive keyboard advancements learn to recognise personal text and email habits for more personal completion suggestions than ever before. It is expected to be able to distinguish the tone used with certain contacts, and changes according to which app is being used to communicate. Users will also be able to add their own voice recordings or videos directly in-line with a text conversation. Group messages feature more customisation to include or drop members at the push of a button.

-Family Sharing brings all of the household members together to take advantage of one library for books, music, applications, photos, and more in one place. This is great for a busy family to personally edit and keep track of personal calendars and scheduled events so that no one misses a thing.

-ICloud Drive brings a major focus and advantage of a person using more than one Apple device, which is pretty common for most fans. All of the files stored in the cloud can be easily accessed on whichever device is currently being used to make the experience extremely smooth and seamless.

Every new iPhone release is met with its share of rumours that are too good to be true, but it is always useful to trust the word directly from Apple. Expect that part of the rumours are not true, but the bright side is that Apple always saves a few secrets for the official release. Price and availability vary by the region, market, and any promotions that are being offered by provider companies.
